Project 8 is a collaborative project initiated by Mike Benoît and involving himself and 7 other musiciens (including of course NLC).

Here are the words of Mike Benoit who initiated this project with seven other fine ambient music creators - a lot of thanks to him for contacting me and inviting me to this beautiful project :

"A couple years ago this project started as an attempt to create a different type of collaboration project than most of my other collab projects... a sort of alchemy of ambience. The project has spanned over multiple time zones and a flurry of life happenings, as each of the artists involved hold busy and artistly prolific day to day lives....although this project never fully reached it's full potential, I have deemed it time to move forward and close the doors on this here first instalment of Project 8, as it is time to move forward with many other projects and sound experiments. I greatly thank all involved here, and although not entirely finished, I am quite happy to share the first instalment of Project 8 to you all."

NLC started in July 1989 as a duo (Angustère & Julien ASH).
In 1990, Angustère left.
After the solo-CD "Incandescent", NLC started again, as ASH's solo project. Compositions became more melodic.The CD "Allegro Vivace" started the Neo-Classical period of NLC, which may not be finished today... Quiet intrigued by this album. All instrumental with spells of film ambient type soundtrack, broken up with what sounds like 80's electro. Then there are a few minutes of orchestration. Track five - 'Die Blume,die alle Ratter', is the strongest. Slightly darker than the rest. Well worth checking out this album . michaelbully
